It's Tuesday night. We are on the main floor now. The nurses and doctors are not in quite as frequent, overall it is just quieter.
Anderson continues to do well. He is eating well, and not throwing up. The NP felt that we were in the clear at this point. We shall see.....
The only thing that Anderson is having a hard time doing is moving. Understandably! He does not like us to pick him up or move him. Dr. Frim says this is good, this means his CSF is flowing and he does not know what the feeling is, it feels "different" to him. He needs to adjust to this new feeling. In addition, obviously, it is painful for Anderson b/c they just did major surgery on his brain and cut thru the back of his neck to get there.
Anderson was much more alert today, we read books, watched a few cartoons (he NEVER sits still to typically watch Dora!), sang songs, took naps, ate! It was a good day. It's hard to believe he had major surgery 24 hours ago!
I am not sure we will be as spoiled tonight though as we were last night. Aunt Sara and Uncle John and his family bribed the night shift nurses last night in the PICU with pizzas. They told the nurses to take extra care of their nephew ;) Thank you....we did get some extra special treatment last night! ;) What a fun idea!
Good night from us and Our Little Tiger!

Liz,
Sounds like you guys are just doing great! We really have been praying like crazy for you. I have experienced that same calmness and seen sudden improvements in Ry-guy when the prayer chain kicked in. Sure, one could say after a good cry, you'll feel calmer or that the child was due to get better right at that time or whatever, but if you've experienced it, you know better. It's very powerful. I'm so proud of all of you and am so hopeful for profound improvement in little Anderson's experience of our beautiful world.
And, can you get me Dr. Frim's autograph? Just kidding. But I am a fan now!
Fr. Seamus asked today how everything was going. He told us to send his love.
Love,
Patty, Steve and my 3 short prayer warriors
Hi kids,
Another good day for Anderson - Wahoooo!!! Oh, boy, that's what we love to hear! It's music to our ears.
I'm with you,Patty.. Dr. Frim is my hero. And hugs to all the nurses and staff caring for Anderson. Thank God for everyone there at UCChildrens.
We keep praying, praying, prayiing for continued progress for Anderson. Liz & Char, we couldn't be more proud of you,and your relentless pursuit of what's right for "A". The doctors are great, but YOU are the reason he is doing so well.
Can't tell you how good it is to hear the happy excitement in your voices.
Keep up the good work, little guy. You're our star!
We love you. Hope to see you soon.
